SCOPE OF DUTY
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) in conjunction with the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (ECAE) has mandated Bureau Veritas to conduct Pre-export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) assessment activities for particular products imported into Ethiopia.
These assessment activities include Conformity documentary review, inspection, control testing when needed, sealing of full load containers and issuance of a Certificate of Conformity. All regulated products shall be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity for Customs clearance at the border.
OBJECTIVES
- Ensure that all imports of regulated products complied with the Ethiopian quality standard for the approved Ethiopian technical regulations or other approved international standards.
- Reduce the risk of unsafe and sub-standard products imported into Ethiopia.
- Facilitate the clearance process.
