Verification of Conformity Program : The Ministry of Trade of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has decided to enforce mandatory standards to enhance competitiveness and protect consumers. Accordingly, a notice to importers, which announced that imported goods at the ports of entry, under the list of mandatory Ethiopian Standards, should be accompanied with a Certificate of Conformity from an authorized Third party Inspection Body, was published in December 2013 on the website of the Ministry of trade of Ethiopia.
